Where is the Trump phone?

By Eric October 31, 2025

The much-anticipated T1 Phone 8002, also known as the “Trump phone,” continues to evade its promised release date, leaving potential buyers and tech enthusiasts in a state of confusion. Initially announced in June alongside a $47 Trump Mobile wireless plan, the phone was expected to hit the market in August. However, as the months rolled on, the Trump Organization shifted the launch date to September and then to October, without any clear communication regarding the reasons for the delays. As of now, the end of October has arrived, and the silence from Trump Mobile has been deafening, with no updates or social media activity since late August.

The T1 is marketed as a mid-range Android device with a striking gold finish, designed to cater to a specific demographic of Trump supporters. Despite its flashy appearance, the product’s credibility has suffered due to the lack of transparency and communication from Trump Mobile. The company’s abrupt change to the phone’s availability timeline — now simply stating it will arrive “later this year” — raises questions about its actual existence. The situation is further complicated by an incident where Trump Mobile mistakenly shared and later deleted an edited image of a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, attempting to pass it off as the T1. This misstep has only fueled skepticism among consumers, with many wondering if the phone is merely vaporware.

As the situation stands, Trump Mobile has not responded to inquiries regarding the T1’s status, leaving many to speculate whether the device will ever see the light of day. With only two months left in the year, the company has a narrow window to fulfill its promises. The ongoing uncertainty around the T1 Phone 8002 serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of clear communication in product launches, especially when associated with a high-profile brand like Trump. As fans and critics alike await the next update, the question remains: will the Trump phone ever be released, or is it destined to remain a figment of marketing hype?

A definitely real, existent phone.

Almost exactly a month ago,
I wrote an article for theverge.com
pointing out that the T1 Phone 8002 (gold version) — a.k.a. the Trump phone — had missed its promised release date. Now here I am again, because the phone still hasn’t come out.

In case you’ve forgotten, the T1 is a very gold mid-range Android phone that was
announced in June alongside a $47 Trump Mobile wireless plan
. The Trump Organization promised an August launch in its press release, but said September on its website. An unnamed spokesperson later told
USA Today
that the launch had been delayed to October.

It’s now the end of October, and Trump Mobile has gone suspiciously quiet — it
hasn’t even posted on social media since August 28th
, shortly after it tweeted (and deleted) a
badly edited image of a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
, passing it off as the T1.

In fairness, for months now, the
store page
has only promised an arrival “later this year,” a change made at the same time Trump Mobile
stopped claiming the T1 would be made in America
. That gives the company two more months to release it and still pretend it’s on time.

Trump Mobile never responded to my request last month for an update on the phone’s release date, and it hasn’t replied to my latest email either. People of lesser faith might worry that this phone is no more than vaporware, but I refuse to give up. Place your bets now on whether I’ll be back here in another month’s time, still asking: where is the Trump phone?
