Elon Musk says Trump is ‘naturally funny’ — and his meeting with Zohran Mamdani showed it

By Eric December 10, 2025

In a recent episode of *The Katie Miller Podcast*, Elon Musk made headlines by praising former President Donald Trump for his sense of humor, describing him as “naturally funny” and “effortless” in his comedic delivery. Musk’s comments came as a surprise to many, particularly given the tumultuous history between the two figures. He specifically referenced a humorous moment from a recent Oval Office meeting where Trump quipped to New York City Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani, who had previously labeled him a “fascist.” Trump’s lighthearted suggestion to Mamdani to simply say “yes” to the label elicited laughter from Musk, who described the exchange as “silly.”

This endorsement of Trump’s humor marks a significant shift in Musk’s relationship with the former president, as they seem to have reconciled past differences. The two have been known to have a complicated rapport, but Musk’s recent visit to the White House for a dinner suggests a thawing of tensions. Despite this newfound camaraderie, Musk also reflected on his own ventures, expressing regret over his involvement in the DOGE cryptocurrency effort, stating that he would have preferred to focus on his companies instead. This admission highlights Musk’s ongoing journey as an entrepreneur navigating the complexities of public and personal relationships in the political arena.

Musk’s comments not only shed light on his personal views but also spark discussions about the intersection of humor and politics. By highlighting Trump’s comedic moments, Musk invites his audience to reconsider the often serious nature of political discourse. As both figures continue to influence American culture and politics, their evolving relationship will undoubtedly remain a topic of interest for many.
