Grammarly is changing its name to Superhuman

By Eric October 29, 2025

In a significant move within the tech landscape, AI writing aid Grammarly has officially rebranded as part of Superhuman, a suite that now includes Superhuman Mail, Coda, and a new AI assistant dubbed Superhuman Go. This transition, effective immediately for all paid Grammarly Pro subscribers, marks a strategic shift for the company, which aims to expand its offerings beyond writing assistance. Superhuman Go will be available to subscribers at no additional cost until February 1, 2026, although future pricing details remain unannounced. This rebranding reflects a broader vision of creating a comprehensive productivity platform that integrates AI capabilities across various applications, enhancing user experience and efficiency.

Superhuman’s recent acquisitions of Coda and Superhuman Mail have paved the way for this transformation. While Grammarly’s standalone writing tool continues to exist, it is now positioned as a secondary feature within a more extensive AI-powered ecosystem. According to Noam Lovinsky, Chief Product Officer at Superhuman, the rebranding was not a hasty decision following the acquisition of Superhuman Mail, but rather a strategic evolution that began as early as late 2022 with the acquisition of Coda. The new Superhuman suite aims to leverage Grammarly’s capabilities while integrating them with over 100 other applications, offering contextual assistance that ranges from scheduling meetings based on Google Calendar availability to refining pitches using database insights.

The user interface of Superhuman Go will be familiar to existing Grammarly users, featuring a sidebar for viewing suggestions and accessing various AI agents, including Grammarly itself. This platform is designed to provide broader functionality than the original Grammarly Go, which primarily focused on writing tasks. Lovinsky emphasizes that Superhuman Go’s capabilities extend far beyond writing, enabling users to streamline various tasks and enhance productivity across their digital workflows. As Superhuman pivots from a writing-centric approach to a more holistic productivity tool, it is poised to redefine how users interact with AI in their daily tasks, making it an exciting development in the realm of digital productivity solutions.

AI writing aid Grammarly is now part of Superhuman, alongside Coda, Superhuman Mail, and a new AI assistant called Superhuman Go. The new Superhuman suite, including all those tools, will be available starting today for everyone with a paid Grammarly Pro subscription. Superhuman Go will be available to subscribers for no extra cost through February 1st, 2026, but Superhuman has not yet confirmed exact pricing for it beyond that date.

Grammarly is adopting its new name from AI email app Superhuman Mail, which Grammarly
acquired in June
, following its December 2024
acquisition of Coda
, a collaborative workspace app. They all now live under the Superhuman banner. Even the Grammarly logo has been replaced to reflect the company’s new identity as a productivity AI brand.

The standalone writing tool Grammarly still exists, but it’s taking a backseat

“It’s a really complicated and frankly scary thing. But the reality is, the Grammarly brand isn’t going anywhere,” Noam Lovinsky, Chief Product Officer at Superhuman, said in an interview with
The Verge
.

The rebrand may seem like a quick turnaround after the Superhuman Mail acquisition just a few months ago, but according to Lovinsky, it “was not the motivating reason” for that deal. The rebrand has been in the works since “as early as late last year” when Grammarly acquired Coda.

After the company’s rebranding, the standalone writing tool Grammarly still exists, but it’s taking a backseat as Superhuman shifts its focus to offering an AI agent-powered work platform that works in every tab of your browser and knows enough about what’s going on to offer useful suggestions. In this demo video, the company says that with connections to over 100 apps, it can offer contextual help, like scheduling meetings based on your Google Calendar’s availability, or getting the details in a pitch right based on the info in a database.

The Superhuman Go UI will look familiar to Grammarly users, with its sidebar for viewing suggestions and now typing prompts, or accessing various AI agents. Grammarly itself is one of those AI agents, and the new Superhuman Agent Store offers more for helping with specific tasks or apps, such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Outlook.

Superhuman is pivoting from its former focus on writing to make Grammarly’s connections to other apps and web browsers its main selling point. A core part of Superhuman is its AI assistant, Superhuman Go, which is effectively Grammarly’s existing generative AI assistant with a fresh coat of paint and more features.

“The tasks that [Superhuman] Go is capable of helping me with are just far, far greater and much broader than what the original Grammarly Go product was able to do because it was mainly focused on the writing use cases,” Lovinsky says.
