The Trump phone was set to be released in August. Months later, it’s still nowhere to be found.

The Trump family’s ambitious venture into the smartphone market, branded as “Trump Mobile,” has faced significant delays and challenges since its announcement in June 2023. Spearheaded by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, the initiative was unveiled on the 10th anniversary of their father’s first presidential campaign, with the flagship product, the T1 smartphone, initially slated for an August release. This gold-colored device, which drew comparisons to Apple’s iPhone, was marketed as being manufactured in the USA, accompanied by a service plan dubbed the “47 Plan,” priced at $47.45 per month to symbolize Donald Trump’s dual status as the 45th and anticipated 47th president of the United States.

However, as of late November, the T1 phone has yet to materialize, with the Trump Mobile website now stating the release will occur “later this year.” This delay has raised questions about the viability of the product, especially since the original “MADE IN THE USA” label has been altered to a more ambiguous description of being “brought to life right here in the USA.” The company’s social media presence has also gone quiet, with no posts since August 27, and a lack of communication from Trump Mobile when approached for comment. Despite these setbacks, the company is still accepting pre-orders for the T1, requiring a $100 deposit, with the remaining $399 due upon delivery, leaving potential customers in a state of uncertainty.

The challenges that Trump Mobile faces highlight the complexities of entering a competitive market dominated by established players. While the initial excitement surrounding the product was palpable, the ongoing delays and lack of transparency could undermine consumer confidence. As the holiday season approaches, it remains to be seen whether the Trump T1 smartphone will finally make its debut and if it can capture the attention of a market that is increasingly skeptical of new entrants.

The Trump phone was announced in June and was originally set to be released in August.
It’s been months since then, and the phone has yet to hit the market.
Here’s what we know about the Trump phone as of now.
The Trump family’s
foray into the smartphone business
has seemingly hit a snag.
Months ago, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump — the president’s two oldest sons — announced the creation of “Trump Mobile,” a new line of Trump-branded smartphones.
The duo made the announcement on June 16, the 10-year anniversary of President
Donald Trump’s
first presidential campaign launch.
Among the new company’s offerings: The T1, a gold-colored smartphone that largely resembles Apple’s iPhone and that was originally advertised as being made in the USA.
There was also the “47 Plan,” which would offer users services like unlimited texting, calling, and data, roadside assistance, and even tele-health services, all for $47.45 per month — a reference to Trump’s status as both the 45th and 47th president of the United States.
Since then, there have been some adjustments.
Within days of the launch, the “MADE IN THE USA” wording was
struck from the Trump Mobile website
. The phone is now simply described as “brought to life right here in the USA” and made with “American hands.”
More significantly, the company has missed its original launch date.
The phone was originally set to be released in August, according to the company’s June
announcement
.
A spokesperson later
told USA Today
that the phone would launch in October.
It’s now late November, and the Trump Mobile website simply says the phone will be available “later this year.”
Trump Mobile did not respond to Business Insider’s request for comment.
Meanwhile, Trump Mobile’s X account has laid dormant for months — the last post the company made was on August 27.

Despite the delay in the release — and the lack of information about when the phone may be available — Trump Mobile is still accepting pre-orders for $100, with the remaining $399 charged when the phone finally arrives.
