All Jewish councils in key New Jersey area endorse Jack Ciattarelli for governor: report
In a historic move for New Jersey politics, Orthodox Jewish leaders in Ocean County have rallied behind Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli, creating a significant faith-based voting coalition. This unprecedented endorsement, reported by The Lakewood Scoop, includes councils from Lakewood, Jackson, Toms River, Howell, and Manchester, marking a pivotal moment in the state’s electoral landscape. The Vaad, Lakewood’s longstanding community council, spearheaded this collaboration, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective action among the various communities. This year’s election is seen not just as a local political contest, but as a crucial opportunity to amplify their voices and priorities, particularly in areas such as education, infrastructure, and religious freedom.
The leaders behind this coalition have articulated a clear message: every vote counts, and turnout is paramount. They have stressed the need for collaboration across municipal lines to ensure that the Orthodox Jewish community’s concerns are represented cohesively. In letters circulated within the community, residents are urged to participate actively in the upcoming election, with a strong emphasis on supporting candidates who have demonstrated commitment and friendship towards their community. The Vaad’s endorsement of Ciattarelli underscores a broader strategy to unify the community and enhance their political influence, reflecting a growing recognition of the Orthodox Jewish community as a decisive force in New Jersey’s electoral politics.
As Ciattarelli campaigns to shift New Jersey from a Democratic stronghold to a Republican one, he faces off against Democratic candidate Mikie Sherrill. The backing from the Orthodox Jewish community, particularly in key areas like Lakewood, could be pivotal in swaying the election outcome. The Vaad’s call to action highlights the importance of civic engagement, framing voting as both a civic duty and a means of expressing gratitude to supportive officials. With the stakes high in this election season, the coalition’s focus on unity and voter turnout could play a critical role in determining the future political landscape of New Jersey.
