Claude Opus 4.5 arrives. Here’s whats new.
This week, Anthropic unveiled its latest flagship AI model, Claude Opus 4.5, marking a significant advancement in artificial intelligence capabilities, particularly for developers and programmers. Opus 4.5 has quickly garnered attention for its exceptional performance, notably becoming the first AI model to score over 80 percent on SWE-Bench verified, a highly regarded coding benchmark. This achievement positions Opus 4.5 as a top contender in the AI landscape, appealing to both novice “vibe coders” and seasoned developers alike. The model is designed to enhance coding efficiency and facilitate the creation of AI agents, making it an attractive tool for those looking to elevate their programming output.
In addition to the impressive benchmarks, Anthropic has announced enhancements to its Claude Code product, which now features a revamped Plan Mode. This mode is said to generate more precise plans and execute tasks with greater thoroughness. Users can now leverage the desktop app to run multiple sessions simultaneously, allowing for a more dynamic workflow—such as having one AI agent troubleshoot a bug while another scours GitHub for solutions. Furthermore, Anthropic is expanding accessibility to two additional products: Claude for Chrome and Claude for Excel. These tools will enable users to harness the multitasking capabilities of Opus 4.5, allowing AI agents to handle parallel tasks efficiently within web browsers and spreadsheets.
One of the standout features of Opus 4.5 is its upgraded memory capabilities, which enhance user interaction by allowing for unlimited chat sessions. This means users can engage in ongoing conversations without the typical constraints, as the AI can summarize past discussions and maintain context over extended interactions. This development is particularly beneficial for users who require in-depth assistance or ongoing project discussions. Overall, Claude Opus 4.5 not only sets a new standard in AI performance but also enriches the user experience by providing powerful tools that cater to the evolving needs of developers and tech enthusiasts.
