NYT Connections Sports Edition today: Hints and answers for November 27, 2025

By Eric November 27, 2025

In today’s edition of the New York Times’ “Connections: Sports Edition,” sports fans are treated to a thrilling challenge that celebrates the excitement of rivalry week. This special iteration of the popular word game, created in collaboration with The Athletic, is designed to test players’ knowledge of sports terminology and connections. Each puzzle consists of 16 words that players must categorize into four distinct groups based on shared characteristics. Much like the well-known game Wordle, “Connections” resets daily, presenting new challenges that become increasingly complex, making it a perfect fit for sports enthusiasts looking to engage their minds while enjoying their favorite pastime.

The gameplay mechanics are straightforward yet engaging. Players receive a grid of words and must identify the common threads linking them—whether that be titles, teams, or other associations. For instance, today’s categories include “Places Where One Scores,” “Associated with the NFL on Thanksgiving,” “College Football Rivalry ‘Cups’,” and “NFL Teams, With The First Letter Changed.” Players have the opportunity to rearrange the words to help spot connections, but they must be cautious, as incorrect guesses count against them, with a maximum of four mistakes allowed before the game ends. The game not only challenges players’ sports knowledge but also encourages social interaction, as results can be shared on social media, adding a competitive edge among friends.

For those looking to enhance their gameplay, hints are provided to guide players through the puzzle. Today’s clues hint at the themes of scoring, Thanksgiving NFL traditions, and college football rivalries, making it a timely and relevant challenge for fans. As players dive into the puzzle, they can enjoy the thrill of competition while honing their word association skills. If you’re eager to tackle today’s challenge, remember that new puzzles will be available daily, ensuring that the fun doesn’t stop. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, “Connections: Sports Edition” invites you to engage your brain while celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship.
