Publishing Briefs: Dynamite Adds Bangers From Avicii and Tinie Tempah — Plus, Mushroom Finds New U.S. Partner

By Eric November 26, 2025

In a significant move within the music publishing industry, specialist publisher Dynamite Songs has acquired rights and royalty streams from notable artists Eric Turner, John “$K” McGee, and electronic music creators TIEKS and Dan Harkna. This strategic acquisition adds nearly 150 tracks to Dynamite’s expanding portfolio, which now boasts around 1,200 works since its launch in May. Among the highlights of the newly acquired catalog are chart-topping hits such as “Written In The Stars” by Tinie Tempah, Avicii’s “Broken Arrows,” and TIEKS’s summer anthem “Sunshine,” featuring Dan Harkna, alongside Trey Songz’s acclaimed track “Neighbors Know My Name” from his Grammy-nominated album, *Ready*.

Dynamite Songs has specifically secured the publishing and songwriting rights, as well as global publishing and performance royalties, for selected works from both Eric Turner and John McGee’s catalogs. The deal with TIEKS and Harkna is focused solely on the hit track “Sunshine,” which gained immense popularity through its association with Fiat’s 500 campaign and support from BBC Radio 1. This acquisition not only reflects Dynamite’s commitment to curating high-quality music but also underscores the commercial viability of these tracks, which collectively boast around 1 billion streams. Alan Wallis, CEO of Dynamite Songs, expressed enthusiasm for these acquisitions, noting that they embody the company’s mission of partnering with creators who value timeless music and an artist-first approach to dealmaking.

As Dynamite Songs continues to expand its reach in the music publishing landscape, these recent deals highlight the growing trend of specialized publishers seeking to enhance their catalogs with high-profile works. The acquisition of rights from established artists like Turner and McGee, alongside emerging electronic talents like TIEKS and Harkna, positions Dynamite as a key player in the industry. This move follows previous acquisitions of works associated with major artists such as Ed Sheeran and Kendrick Lamar, further solidifying Dynamite’s reputation for selective and impactful acquisitions. As the company looks ahead, it remains focused on building partnerships with more creators, reinforcing its dedication to promoting music that resonates with audiences worldwide.

Specifically, Dynamite has acquired the publishing and songwriting rights, along with global publishing and performance royalties, for selected works from the Turner and McGee catalogs, while its deal with TIEKS and Harkna is understood to be limited to the track “Sunshine.”

Turner is best known for co-writing and performing on “Written In The Stars” (see below) and collaborating with Avicii on “Dancing in My Head” and “Broken Arrows.” McGee helped shape modern R&B with tracks like “Neighbors Know My Name” and cuts for Jacquees. TIEKS and Harkna created “Sunshine”, a global dance hit boosted by Fiat’s 500 campaign and BBC Radio 1 support.

These acquisitions mark the latest phase of Dynamite’s expansion since its May launch, bringing its actively managed catalogue to around 1,200 works. The deals follow Dynamite’s earlier acquisitions of works tied to Ed Sheeran and Kendrick Lamar.

“What excites me most about these latest deals is how clearly they embody what Dynamite stands for – selective, high-quality acquisitions of music that truly matters,””” said Alan Wallis, CEO of Dynamite Songs. “With around 1 billion total streams between them, these catalogues have consistently demonstrated their commercial strength. We’re deeply grateful to John, Eric, Mark and Dan for entrusting us with these incredible works. As our robust pipeline of potential deals continues to expand, we look forward to partnering with even more creators who share our passion for timeless music and value our artist-first approach to dealmaking.””
