By Eric November 24, 2025

Today’s **Connections: Sports Edition** from the New York Times is a thrilling challenge for sports enthusiasts, particularly those who follow Florida sports closely. This game is an engaging twist on the popular word puzzle genre, reminiscent of the original *Connections* and *Wordle*, where players must identify common threads among a set of words. Each day, the game resets at midnight, presenting a fresh set of 16 words that players must categorize into four distinct groups. As with its predecessors, the game grows progressively more challenging, making it a delightful brain workout for fans of all ages.

**Connections: Sports Edition** is a collaboration between the New York Times and The Athletic, aiming to combine sports knowledge with wordplay. Players are tasked with grouping words that share a common theme, which could range from sports terminology to team names. For example, today’s categories include “Football Defensive Stats,” “Teams That Play in New Jersey,” “U.S. Soccer Goalkeepers,” and “Washington ____.” Each grouping is color-coded to indicate difficulty, helping players strategize their approach. If players correctly identify a set, those words are removed from the board, while incorrect guesses count against their allowed mistakes. This mix of strategy and sports trivia makes the game not only entertaining but also a great way to learn more about the sports world.

For those looking for a bit of assistance, the article provides helpful hints to navigate today’s puzzle.
