Taylor Swift’s ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ Reigns on U.K. Charts for Fifth Week

By Eric November 23, 2025

Taylor Swift continues to dominate the U.K. Singles Chart, holding onto the top position for a remarkable fifth non-consecutive week with her hit single “The Fate of Ophelia,” as of November 21. Initially reaching No. 1 on October 10 and maintaining the spot for three consecutive weeks, Swift faced competition from KPop sensation HUNTR/X’s track “Golden.” However, she reclaimed the top position last week and has now extended her reign, marking her longest-running U.K. No. 1 since her 2022 hit “Anti-Hero,” which held the top spot for six weeks. This latest achievement underscores Swift’s enduring popularity and commercial success in the music industry.

“The Fate of Ophelia” is featured on Swift’s latest album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, which has also secured its place as her 14th U.K. No. 1 album. With this milestone, Swift has solidified her status as the international artist with the most No. 1s on the U.K. Albums Charts, tying with legendary band The Rolling Stones for second overall, while The Beatles and Robbie Williams lead with 15 each. In the current singles chart, HUNTR/X’s “Golden” remains a strong contender at No. 2, having previously spent ten weeks at the top, while RAYE’s “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!” holds steady at No. 3. Notably, Olivia Dean has made significant strides with her two tracks in the top five, showcasing her rising influence in the music scene.

In addition to Swift’s successes, the chart also highlights the emergence of new talents. Liverpool rapper EsDeeKid has three tracks making waves in the top 40, with “Phantom,” “Century,” and “4 Raws” all performing well. Charli XCX marks her presence with the week’s highest new entry, “Chains of Love,” from her *Wuthering Heights* soundtrack LP, debuting at No. 26. The dynamic landscape of the U.K. music charts illustrates a vibrant mix of established stars and emerging artists, reflecting the diverse tastes of listeners and the ever-evolving music industry. As Taylor Swift continues to break records, her influence remains a significant force in shaping contemporary pop music.
