Wordle has achievements now

By Eric October 24, 2025

The New York Times has introduced an exciting new feature for its popular games, including Wordle, Spelling Bee, and Connections: badges! This gamification element allows players to showcase their accomplishments and milestones achieved during gameplay. Whether you’ve solved a Wordle puzzle in just one guess, perfected a Connections puzzle, or amassed a collection of Pangrams in the Spelling Bee, these badges serve as a way to celebrate and remember your gaming journey. Each player can view their earned badges in a personalized trophy case within the app, adding a new layer of engagement and motivation to enhance the gaming experience.

In addition to the standard achievements, the NYT plans to roll out seasonal events and special challenges that will offer unique badges to commemorate holidays or special puzzles. For avid players who subscribe to the NYT Games, there will also be exclusive badges available, enriching the gameplay experience even further. Currently, these badges are limited to Wordle, Spelling Bee, and Connections, but the NYT has indicated that more badges will be introduced across its suite of games in the future. This initiative not only encourages players to improve their skills and try new challenges but also fosters a sense of community as players can share their achievements and compete for bragging rights. Whether you’re a casual player or a dedicated enthusiast, these badges are a fun way to enhance your gaming experience and keep your Wordle streak alive!
