NHS England responds to ADHD Taskforce final report

By Eric November 20, 2025

On November 6, 2025, the ADHD Taskforce released its comprehensive final report, addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) across various sectors, including health, education, employment, and the criminal justice system. Established in response to the growing concerns regarding ADHD care, the independent taskforce undertook a thorough assessment of existing services, revealing a landscape that is not only fragmented but also under significant pressure. The report highlights a pressing need for improved coordination and integration of services to ensure individuals with ADHD receive the support they require throughout their lives.

For instance, individuals in urban areas may have better access to specialized healthcare providers and educational resources compared to those in rural communities, where such services are often scarce. The report also emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis and intervention, noting that timely support can significantly improve outcomes for children and adults with ADHD. The report calls for a multi-faceted approach to reform ADHD care, urging policymakers to prioritize ADHD in health and educational agendas. Recommendations include the establishment of standardized training for educators, increased funding for mental health services, and the development of comprehensive support frameworks that encompass all aspects of life for individuals with ADHD. By addressing these critical areas, the ADHD Taskforce aims to create a more inclusive society that recognizes and accommodates the unique challenges faced by those with ADHD, ultimately fostering better health outcomes and enhancing quality of life.
