Disney Will Bring Dynamic Pricing Similar To Airline Model To Domestic Theme Parks, Says CFO

By Eric November 20, 2025

Disney is set to implement dynamic pricing at its domestic theme parks, a strategy aimed at maximizing revenue and enhancing visitor experience. Chief Financial Officer Hugh Johnston announced that this pricing model has already been successfully tested at Disneyland Paris over the past year, yielding positive results. The concept of dynamic pricing involves adjusting ticket prices based on various factors such as demand, seasonality, and special events, allowing Disney to optimize attendance and revenue while providing guests with a more tailored experience.

The move comes in response to changing consumer behaviors and the need for the company to adapt to economic pressures. By employing a dynamic pricing strategy, Disney aims to encourage visits during off-peak times, thereby alleviating crowding during peak periods and ensuring a more enjoyable experience for all guests. For example, prices may be lower during weekdays or during less popular seasons, incentivizing families to plan visits when the parks are less crowded. This approach not only helps Disney manage attendance but also allows for increased flexibility in pricing, potentially leading to higher overall ticket revenue.

In addition to the dynamic pricing model, Disney is also exploring other revenue-enhancing strategies, including personalized experiences and exclusive offerings that cater to different customer segments. The company has recognized the importance of evolving its business model in a competitive entertainment landscape, where consumer expectations are continually rising. As Disney prepares to roll out this pricing strategy domestically, it remains focused on balancing revenue generation with maintaining the magical experience that has made its parks iconic. This initiative reflects Disney’s commitment to innovation while ensuring that guests receive value for their visits, ultimately reinforcing its position as a leader in the theme park industry.

Disney plans to launch dynamic pricing at its domestic theme parks as the company looks to boost incremental revenue, said chief financial officer Hugh Johnston. “We’re actually investing in creating dynamic pricing. We’re doing it in Paris right now. We’ve been doing it for about a year. It’s off to a very good start. But […]
