The Daily Show weighs in on new Epstein emails sent about Trump

By Eric November 14, 2025

In recent developments surrounding the enduring Jeffrey Epstein saga, a series of emails released by the Democrats on the House Oversight Committee have reignited discussions about former President Donald Trump’s connections to the convicted sex offender. One particularly alarming email, allegedly sent by Epstein to his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, directly references Trump in a context that raises eyebrows. The email includes a cryptic remark: “I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump,” suggesting a concerning connection to one of Epstein’s victims, who reportedly spent significant time at Epstein’s residence with Trump. This revelation has not only intensified scrutiny on Trump but has also sparked conversations about the implications of having a leader with such associations.

The reaction to these emails has been widespread, with notable commentary from public figures such as Josh Johnson, host of “The Daily Show.” Johnson examined the emails on his show, emphasizing how each new detail seems to deepen the suspicion surrounding Trump’s involvement. He articulated a broader concern that transcends political affiliations, stating, “I’m an American living in America,” and underscoring the collective interest in ensuring that the nation is not led by someone with ties to sexual predation. His remarks highlight a growing anxiety among the public regarding the integrity of leadership and the potential for a sexual predator to occupy the highest office in the land. As the Epstein narrative continues to unfold, it serves as a reminder of the ongoing complexities and moral questions surrounding power, privilege, and accountability in politics.
