There are way too many Demogorgons in the Stranger Things Season 5, Volume 1 trailer

By Eric November 24, 2025

The anticipation for the final season of *Stranger Things* is reaching a fever pitch with the release of the latest trailer for Season 5, Volume 1. This season promises to be a thrilling culmination of the series, showcasing bold new displays of power from Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown, as she and her friends devise an “insane” plan to save Hawkins from impending doom. Fans are treated to a heart-pounding glimpse of the action, including the shocking sight of not one, but three Demogorgons bursting forth from the ground, signaling a terrifying escalation in the threats facing our beloved characters. The trailer captures the chaos and urgency of the situation, leaving viewers with Robin (Maya Hawke) exclaiming, “What the hell just happened?” as the Hawkins party finds themselves pursued by this monstrous army.

Set in November 1987, nearly a year after the dramatic events of Season 4, the stakes are higher than ever. Hawkins is now under military surveillance, a direct consequence of the rift between the Upside Down and the real world that has left the town vulnerable. The government is still on the hunt for Eleven, but she, along with her friends, is determined to confront Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) once and for all. The trailer hints at the formidable challenges they will face, not only from Vecna but also from the rampaging Demogorgons, which seem to be ramping up the horror factor significantly this season. With the introduction of multiple Demogorgons, the show is poised to deliver a level of tension and excitement that fans have come to love, making it clear that the final season will be a wild ride.

*Stranger Things* Season 5, Volume 1 is set to premiere on November 26 at 8 p.m. ET on Netflix, with Volume 2 following on December 25, and the series finale concluding on December 31. As fans eagerly await the return of their favorite characters and the resolution of long-standing mysteries, the new trailer serves as a fitting reminder of the thrills and chills that have defined this iconic series. With an army of Demogorgons and a desperate fight to save Hawkins on the horizon, viewers can expect an unforgettable conclusion to the *Stranger Things* saga.

You read that correctly. While the Demogorgon was once a lone monster stalking our heroes, there’s now a whole army of them out for blood. In the new trailer, several Demogorgons burst out of mini-rifts into the Upside Down and give chase to the Hawkins party, leaving Robin (Maya Hawke) to very understandably ask, “What the hell just happened?”
These three Demogorgons don’t appear to be acting alone, as the trailer also features scenes where Demogorgons lay the smackdown on some soldiers. Frankly, one Demogorgon is already one too many for my sanity! Beyond that, I’m not sure I can handle the sheer volume of Demogorgons we’re going to get this season.
