The festival, now in its 15th edition, attracted over 78,000 attendees, who were treated to a vibrant mix of nostalgia and fresh talent across various genres, including indie, soul, electro-pop, and folk. The Foo Fighters delivered an explosive performance, showcasing their extensive catalog spanning three decades, which resonated deeply with fans. The energy was palpable at Curva 4, the renowned Formula 1 venue, where the audience maintained a lively atmosphere that lasted well into the early hours of Saturday.
Day one of the festival was not just about the headliners; it also featured a diverse lineup that included notable acts such as Queens of the Stone Age, Franz Ferdinand, Garbage, and Kaiser Chiefs. One of the standout moments came from the iconic band 4 Non Blondes, whose resurgence can be attributed to a viral TikTok trend that blended their classic hit “What’s Up?” with Nicki Minaj’s “Beez in the Trap.” This mash-up has gained immense popularity, propelling the song back onto the Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart and introducing it to a new generation of fans. The festival’s atmosphere was characterized by a sense of community and shared enthusiasm, as both old and new fans united to celebrate the music they love.
Looking ahead to Saturday, the festival promises to continue its momentum with performances from a variety of artists, including U.S. sensation Chappell Roan, who is set to make her Mexican stage debut. Other anticipated acts include Vampire Weekend, Alabama Shakes, and Mogwai, ensuring that the celebration of music remains vibrant and diverse.
