Petition to trigger US House vote on release of Epstein files reaches required total – live

By Eric November 13, 2025

In a significant development on Capitol Hill, Congress’ newest member, Arizona Democrat Adelita Grijalva, has taken a bold step by signing a petition aimed at compelling the House of Representatives to vote on legislation that would release documents related to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. This move comes at a time when the scrutiny surrounding Epstein’s connections to high-profile figures, including former President Donald Trump, has intensified, particularly following the release of new emails that suggest Trump was aware of Epstein’s illicit activities. Grijalva’s action reflects a growing bipartisan interest in transparency regarding Epstein’s extensive network, which has been a focal point of investigations into sex trafficking and abuse.

The newly uncovered emails, released by the House Oversight Committee, reveal chilling insights into the relationship between Epstein and Trump. In correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein claimed that Trump “spent hours” at his residence with one of Epstein’s victims, casting a shadow over Trump’s previous denials about his association with Epstein. Additionally, Epstein communicated with author Michael Wolff, indicating that Trump was well aware of the presence of young women at his gatherings, stating, “of course he knew about the girls.” These revelations have reignited discussions about Trump’s past ties to Epstein and have prompted calls for a deeper investigation into their interactions, particularly as Trump seeks to maintain his political relevance amid ongoing legal challenges.

The implications of these emails extend beyond mere allegations; they also highlight the complex dynamics of power and public perception. Wolff’s advice to Epstein on how to manage Trump’s acknowledgment of their friendship underscores the strategic maneuvering often present in political relationships. He suggested that Epstein could leverage Trump’s denial of visiting Epstein’s properties as a means of gaining political capital, potentially positioning himself favorably in the public eye. As the conversation around Epstein continues to evolve, the push for transparency and accountability remains a critical issue, with Grijalva’s petition serving as a catalyst for further inquiry into the dark underbelly of Epstein’s connections and the broader implications for those involved. The ongoing discourse around these revelations not only underscores the need for legislative action but also serves as a reminder of the enduring impact of Epstein’s legacy on American politics and society.

on the House oversight committee, Jeffrey Epstein wrote that Donald Trump knew about the late financier and sex-offender’s conduct. In the three emails released, Epstein apparently told his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell that Trump

at his house with one of Epstein’s victims.
In two other emails to author Michael Wolff, Epstein wrote that
“of course he knew about the girls”
, referring to the now-president. According to the exchanges, Epstein also solicited Wolff’s advice about how he should handle Trump discussing their friendship in an interview with CNN. “I think you should let him hang himself,” Wolff writes. “If he says he hasn’t been on the plane or to the house, then that gives you a valuable PR and political currency. You can hang him in a way that potentially generates a positive benefit for you, or, if it really looks like he could win, you could save him, generating a debt.”
