Fairport Harbor Village, though small in size, has made a significant impact on a national level by winning prestigious awards in the 2025 America in Bloom (AIB) competition. The annual symposium and awards ceremony took place recently in Rochester, Michigan, where Fairport Harbor was honored with the Overall Impression Outstanding Achievement Award. Additionally, the village received a special tribute for Celebrating Heritage from AIB professional advisers Connie Baggett and Brian Sullivan, who spent two days in the village this summer engaging with local officials, residents, and volunteers to assess the community’s efforts.

Village Administrator Lukas Darling expressed the community’s pride in receiving such national recognition, highlighting the dedication and collaborative spirit of its residents and local organizations. “These accolades reflect the pride, dedication, and collaborative spirit of our residents, volunteers, and local organizations who work tirelessly to preserve Fairport Harbor’s rich history while enhancing its beauty,” Darling stated. He also acknowledged the significant contributions of Village Council members Christina Bacnik and Elisabeth Shaver, the latter of whom attended the symposium to accept the awards on behalf of the community.
