Rep Thomas Massie remarries after wife’s death last year: ‘Please pray for us’

By Eric November 3, 2025

In a heartfelt update, Rep. Thomas Massie, a Republican from Kentucky, has announced his remarriage to Carolyn Grace Moffa, following the passing of his first wife, Rhonda, last year. Massie shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that he and Moffa were legally married on October 19 in Kentucky, officiated by their church pastor. This past weekend, they celebrated their union with a Christian wedding ceremony in Pennsylvania, Moffa’s home state, surrounded by friends and family. Massie, who is currently navigating a re-election campaign against a Trump-backed primary challenger, expressed his joy and gratitude, stating, “Please pray for us as Carolyn steps into the arena with me.”

The congressman’s relationship with Moffa has roots dating back over a decade when they first met professionally during her tenure as a staffer for Senator Rand Paul. Massie reminisced about their shared history, noting that Moffa had previously visited his farm with his late wife. He highlighted the special moments from their wedding, such as serving raw milk and peach margaritas sourced from their farm, and mentioned the attendance of notable lawmakers, including Senator Rand Paul and Representatives Jim Jordan and Marjorie Taylor Greene. A touching detail from the ceremony was that Massie’s oldest grandson served as the ring bearer, underscoring the family-centric nature of the event.

Massie’s announcement comes in the wake of personal loss, as he had previously mourned the death of his high school sweetheart, Rhonda, who passed away in June 2024. In a poignant post at that time, he reflected on their 35 years together, describing her as “the love of my life” and expressing deep sorrow for her passing. Now, as he embarks on this new chapter with Moffa, Massie is not only looking forward to their future together but also to continuing his political endeavors, advocating for the people of Kentucky. As he faces challenges in his re-election bid, Massie’s personal story of resilience and love adds a compelling narrative to his campaign, resonating with voters who value both family and steadfast leadership.
