Microsoft releases an Xbox Full Screen Experience preview for the MSI Claw
Microsoft is expanding the reach of its Xbox Full Screen Experience (FSE) to include MSI Claw models, enhancing the gaming experience for Windows PC handhelds. Announced as part of the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build, this integration aims to provide a console-like navigation experience for gamers utilizing these portable devices. The Xbox FSE first made its debut on the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X earlier this month, although early adopters have reported several issues that may affect the user experience. As such, potential users of the MSI Claw may want to exercise caution and consider waiting for a more stable version before diving into the new features.
To activate the Xbox FSE on compatible devices, users can easily navigate to Settings > Gaming > Full Screen Experience, where they can select Xbox as their home app. This feature not only enhances accessibility but also allows gamers to enjoy a more immersive experience by accessing the FSE from Task View and Game Bar. Additionally, users can configure their handhelds to launch directly into the full screen experience upon startup, streamlining the gaming process. Microsoft’s announcement also hinted at future developments, stating that more original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) will soon support the Xbox FSE on their devices, with Lenovo’s Legion Go 2 already confirmed to receive this feature next year.
With the growing popularity of handheld gaming and the increasing demand for seamless gaming experiences across various platforms, Microsoft’s move to integrate the Xbox FSE into additional devices marks a significant step in bridging the gap between console and PC gaming. This initiative not only caters to existing gamers but also opens up opportunities for new users to experience high-quality gaming on the go. As the technology continues to evolve, the gaming community eagerly anticipates further enhancements and support from other OEMs, solidifying the Xbox FSE as a pivotal feature in the handheld gaming landscape.
